BKC101: Knit Class 101 - Using Grainline Studio's Lark Tee
Love wearing knits but nervous about getting started and sewing them? Come join me for a great introductory course working with Grainline Studio's Lark Tee pattern. This is an older pattern still in print because of how great it is. This is a user friendly pattern that has multiple options of necklines, sleeve lengths and easy to follow directions, making this pattern a great addition to your wardrobe. Are you interested in learning how to sew on a machine? Before diving into your first project, you may want to get acquainted with the fundamentals of sewing, the sewing machine parts and its different attachments and their uses. This 2.5 hour introduction runs you through different stitches, needle basics and how to maintain and clean your machine. We will practice basic seam techniques, cover fundamentals of fabrics and so much more. You can bring your own machine or if you don't have one, use ours and see if you want to invest in one.

UCC101: Upcycling Clothes for Beginners & Beyond
Give Your Clothes a Second Life: Upcycling for Beginners 2 Session Workshop Aug 26 & Sept 2, 6-7:30pm or Sept 26, 2-6 Do you have a piece of clothing that's seen better days — or just doesn’t fit quite right? In this two-session class, you'll transform a garment you already own into something functional, personal, and unique. We'll start by looking at everyone's garments together, talking through the possibilities as a group. Maybe a dress is too long, a top is too big, or a pair of pants has ridiculously small pockets. Maybe you'd rather cut the fabric apart entirely and turn it into something new. Whatever the starting point, we'll help you find a solution that pleases you. From there, you'll plan your project and get to work. You’ll learn simple hand embroidery stitches and sewing machine basics as you go. Practicing and then applying each new skill to your own garment. Every creative project moves at its own speed. Whether you complete your garment in class or carry it home to finish, you'll leave with the confidence and skills to see it through on your own. No experience needed.
